Urnex Cafiza Cleaning Powder (566 gram)

Urnex Cafiza Cleaning Powder is a concentrated formula specially designed for cleaning the groups of an espresso machine. It is suitable for use on piston machines and provides thorough cleaning and backflush.

Instructions for professional espresso machines:

1. Place a blind filter in the portafilter and add up to 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) of Cafiza powder. Place the portafilter in the group head.
2. Activate the brewing cycle for 10 seconds. Stop for 10 seconds. Repeat this 5 times.
3. Remove the portafilter. Activate the brewing cycle and rinse the portafilter with water from the group head. Stop the cycle.
4. Place the portafilter back in the group head. Repeat step (2) without Cafiza powder 5 times.
5. Brew a shot of espresso and discard it to ensure no residue remains.

Soak:

1. Soak filters and the metal parts of the portafilter for 30 minutes in 1 teaspoon (6 g) of Cafiza powder per 32 oz (1 L) of hot water.
2. Rinse with clean hot water.

Instructions for coffee makers:

1. Empty the coffee maker. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon (3 g) of Cafiza powder per 64 oz (2 L) capacity of the machine directly into the filter basket.
2. Run a full brewing cycle in each carafe and let it sit for 30 minutes.
3. Empty each carafe and rinse all parts with clean hot water.

TIP: Wet a cloth with a solution of Cafiza powder and wipe the spray heads, then wipe clean. Note: the solution can be very hot.

Instructions for coffee roasting equipment:

1. Storage bins for roasted coffee:

1. Mixing ratio - 50 parts hot water to 1 part Cafiza Espresso Machine Cleaner powder. Mix hot water and Cafiza Espresso Machine Cleaner in a large sink or tub.
2. Dip the storage containers and open and close any lids or dosing mechanisms.
3. Remove from the cleaning solution and dip in a tub of clean water. Rinse with running water.
4. Air dry or wipe with a cloth.

Removable parts of the coffee roaster:

1. Mixing ratio - 30 parts hot water to 1 part Cafiza Espresso Machine Cleaner.
2. Remove all parts of the coffee roaster that can be cleaned by immersion or soaking.
3. Mix hot water and Cafiza Espresso Machine Cleaner in a large sink or tub. Let the parts of the coffee roaster soak for a few minutes.
4. Rinse in a tub of clean water.
5. Use running water for the final rinse.
6. Dry and inspect all parts.

Non-removable parts of the coffee roaster:

1. Mix four tablespoons of Cafiza Espresso Machine Cleaner with 1 liter of hot water in a spray bottle.
2. Spray the parts generously with the solution and wipe clean. Some parts may require more than one application.

Packaging equipment:

1. Mix four tablespoons of Cafiza Espresso Machine Cleaner with 1 liter of hot water in a spray bottle.
2. Spray the funnels, spouts, and all surfaces that come into contact with coffee thoroughly with the solution.
3. Wipe the surfaces clean with a sponge. Keep the sponge clean by rinsing regularly in clean water.

Always follow the manufacturer's cleaning and disassembly instructions. All mixing ratios can be adjusted if a stronger solution is desired. Use rubber gloves and eye protection for comfort and safety.
